According to the data furnished by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Hyderabadis are the victims of pollution chronically. The data are the outcome of the setting up monitoring stations by CPCB at five locations.
Regardless of residential, commercial, or sensitive zones, and irrespective of the timing- day or night, decibel levels are above the safety standard and thus have harmful effect on people’s health.
The study shows that in a certain residential area the average noise level during day time was 56 dBs and 48 dBs at night, the maximum corresponding permissible levels being 55 dBs and 45 dBs respectively.
Similar is the state of noise pollution in other areas of the city.
