The department of railways will now give priority to the tatkal waiting-list passengers of that class while allotting vacant berths in the extra coaches that are attached to the trains on a day-to-day basis (to clear that day’s waiting-list passengers). And if any of the berths are still available after allocating, they will be allocated to the general waiting-list passengers of that class, who were previously given the priority while allotting.
However, this modified rule is not applicable for the additional coaches that are attached commonly for temporary reasons for a specific duration, such as summer/holiday rush.
