Mobile Money Order (MO) Service will be launched in the state from June by postal department. This service will make it easy for people to send money.
One can transfer money from one location to another, through the Mobile Money Order Service by using the BSNLs mobile network. When the sender deposits cash at a post office, the payee will receive an SMS on his mobile about the fund transfer along with personal code. The payee will then, go to the designated post office and receive payment after showing the personal code that was sent through SMS.
The transfer fee of a minimum of Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 is charged Rs 40, from Rs 1,501 to Rs 5,000 it is Rs 70 and from Rs 5,001 to Rs 10,000 it is Rs 100. The revenue that is collected will be equally shared by the BSNL and the postal department.
