The Department of Business Management (DBM), Osmania University, is celebrating its Golden Jubilee year till the first week of January 2024. This is not just a commemoration of the Department’s rich legacy but also a memorable reunion that aims to unite its esteemed alumni from around the world. About 114 affiliated colleges of DBM, OU, offering the MBA course will join the celebrations from their respective campuses across the greater Hyderabad region.
50 Years of Shaping Business Minds
For over five decades, the DBM proudly stands as a beacon in management education. As one of the pioneering management schools in the country, the department has been instrumental in shaping the careers of tens of thousands of management professionals since its establishment in 1962. While management education was initially introduced at Osmania University in 1962, it wasn’t until 1972 that an exclusive Department for Business Management was created, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s journey.

The Golden Jubilee Celebration holds profound significance as it not only honors the department’s illustrious history but also serves as a platform to reconnect with and celebrate the achievements of its alumni. With a legacy that spans half a century, the DBM has played a pivotal role in the education of over 3 lakh MBA professionals since its formal inception in 1972. In addition, the department has launched a BBA program for the benefit of students during the last decade.
