The fake bus pass racket which was busted earlier this July. This racket was found to be operational since a year, and despite giving warnings it is still continuing.
In the surprise checks conducted this week, APSRTC officials found 290 fake bus passes in the city limits. Taking this seriously the APSRTC officials warned that they will be booking criminal cases on those who are carrying the fake bus passes. They also mentioned that the career of the students will be affected if they are booked under criminal cases.
In the same occasion they mentioned that the occupancy percentage of APSRTC has gone up to 75-80%, and also it has recorded a revenue collection of Rs 27 crore in the first week of August.
