Two Hour Power cut in City

Power cuts are back, quite early this year. Every year, we witness power cuts in the summer season but they are longer, frequent and causing more inconvenience this year. The temperatures are consistently hitting the 40-degree mark early in the season this year. This excessive heat wave accompanied by the frequent power cuts is showing a glimpse of the hell to the people of Hyderabad.

According to the Central Power Distribution Company Limited (CPDCL), a two-hour power cut in the twin cities is imposed due to the increase in consumption and decrease in generation of electricity. The power cut is being administered in two spells of an hour each I the twin cities.

Sub urban areas are already witnessing more than two-hour power cuts per day. The two-hour load relief has been extended even to the areas located in the center of the city. Timings of the power cuts in some of the areas in the city are:

9 a.m. to 10 a.m. & 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.:
Areas under the substations of Exhibition Grounds, Malakpet, Petlaburz, Salarjung Museum, Kandikal Gate, C.R.P.F, Santosh Nagar, Miralam Mandi, Chandulal Baradari, Seetharambagh, Langer House, Gun rock, Hyderguda (Cen), Madhapur, A C Guards, Road No.2 (New), Attapur, Hussainsagar (Excluding Secretariat), Indira Park, Maitrivanam, Hakeempet, and Maccha Bollarum.

10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.:
Khilwath, Sultan Bazar, E.N.T Hospital, Osmania Hospital, Industrial Area, Vittalwadi, Narayanaguda, Bowenpally, Hyderguda (St), Goshamahal, Karwan, Asmangadh, Kanchan Bagh, Osmania University, Yousufguda, Greenlands, Amberpet, China Thokatta, Bhudevi Nagar, Amberpet, H.A.L, IDPL, Praga Tools.

11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.:
Airport, Sanjeevaiah Park, Road No.2, Gymkhana, Monda Market, Addagutta, Paatigadda, Bansilalpet, Fever Hosital, Gudi Malkapur, Ayyappa Society, Asifnagar, Nampally, Allwyn, E S I, Mothi Nagar, Lake View, Prashanth Nagar, Chanchalguda, Film Nagar, H.M.T, Maredpally, Kalyan Nagar, Kundanbagh.

12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.:

Apart from this two-hour load relief power cut, the frequent interruptions in power supply are making it very difficult for the citizens of the city to withstand the heat wave.
