The AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) decreased city bus fares in twin cities.
The new fares for ordinary services, for initial two stages, will be Rs 4, for the third stage, it has been lessened from Rs 7 to 5, for fourth stage fare is reduced from Rs 7 to 6, for 7 and 8 stages the fare has been decreased to Rs 9 from 10, for 11 and 12 stages the fare is Rs 12, for 15 and 16 stages the fare is Rs 15 and for 18th stage the fare has been minimized to Rs 19 from Rs 20.
The new fares for Metro Express services, for the first stage has been decreased to Rs 6 from Rs 7, for 3 and 4 stages fare is reduced from Rs 9 to Rs 8, for 7 and 8 stages fare is Rs 11, for 11 and 12 stages fare is Rs 15, for 15th stage fare is Rs 18 and for 18th stage the fare has been lowered to Rs 21 from Rs 22.
The minimum fare for Metro Deluxe services has been decreased to Rs 7 from Rs 8, for 3 and 4 stages fare is lessened to Rs 9 from Rs 10, for 7 and 8 stages fare is Rs 12, for 11 and 12 stages fare is Rs 16 and for 15th stage fare is Rs 20 and for 18th stage it has been decreased to Rs 23 from Rs 24.
Executive Director of the RTC, P Narayana Swami said that the fares were reduced to increase occupancy ratio in buses which had declined after increasing the fares.
