Pollution Control Board has decided to start the facility to monitor the ambient air quality in four more centers in the city. Already it has 21 Chartres to cover different locations like Punjagutta, Abids, Charminar, Uppal, Balanagar, Nacharam, and Rajendranagar. But now the facility which provides the real time data for continuous monitor, is only at the board office at Sanathnagar.
The new facilities of the upcoming four centers will help to generate a comprehensive real time understanding of the various environment parameters. Such facilities in four centers would start with in the five months.
Currently the PCB is monitoring in different areas by using electrochemical sensor and such monitoring will be done with non dispersive infrared sensors after establishing the continuous ambient air quality monitoring. By these facilities, ambient air quality can be monitored through online. PCB has started the monitoring of ammonia, ozone, lead, and nickel in ambient air and after receiving necessary infrastructure other parameters like PM2.5, benzene, arsenic and others will be started to monitor.
