A 5 storied building being constructed right next to the 97-year old heritage monument Jubilee hall. This building is being constructed in gross violation of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act which says that constructions should be atleast 30 metres away from any archaeological monuments.
Sources claim that the building has no permission from either GHMC, HMDA or HCC, which is responsible for approving such constructions. However, the officials of the protocol department, which will have its office in this building, claimed that they have all the required permissions from state authorities including GHMC. They even added that the High Court had passed a ruling in their favour when the matter had run into a legal tangle a few months ago.
This kept the heritage lovers and enthusiasts worried. The building seemed to be 95% complete and the left out work at the site are at full swing.
