The GHMC, HMRL and Hyderabad Traffic Police are together planning to remove traffic congestion along the 110 junctions of three metro rail corridors – L.B. Nagar-Miyapur, Nagole-Shilparamam and JBS-Falakunuma. This step is taken to facilitate smooth construction of metro rails and also to help the commuters with smooth flow of traffic.
The HMRL has also called for proposals in this regard. The firms can submit a report on short term solutions and long term solutions within 2 months and 6 months respectively. Short term solutions are shifting of utilities such as electric poles, road dividers and removal of encroachments. Long term solutions are construction of fly overs, redesigning junctions, grade separators like underpasses, etc. All the above solutions are taken in respect of finding permanent traffic solutions.
