The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has issued notices for about 20,000 defaulters, who had not paid bill for atleast 3 months. All those defaulters owe for about more than Rs.10,000 each in arrears. The defaulters are asked to respond within 15 days of receiving notices, failing which, may result in disconnection of water supply. According to the officials of the board, about 19,691 notices are sent, among which 2000 defaulters had cleared their dues in past one week, creating a revenue of Rs.35 lakh for the board.
The board will collect charges for disconnection and reconnection from the customers. The DC and RC for connections of 15mm to 20mm are Rs.1000 and Rs.700, for connections of 25mm to 40mm are Rs.2,000 and Rs.1000, for 50mm, 65mm and 80mm they charged Rs.3,000 and Rs.2000 and for connection of 100mm will be Rs.6000 and Rs.4000.
