GHMC launched a cell phone monitoring system called ‘OSRT’ (Off Site Real Time), to keep a track on various activities of workers like attendance, working hours and location of sanitation staff, lifting of dumper bins, street lightening and activities related to town planning. This system provides real times images along with specific details such as latitude, longitude, time and site map. These details are received by GHMC main server, which are monitored by respective supervisors. These details can also be accesses by the normal citizens through http://www.osrt:8080/igms, in which the data is stored for 45 days. This plan was first started in four, five and eight circles in last year of June.

The GHMC is also making efforts to update the details on ongoing works too, for which it had acquired 331 cell phone and still 100 are to be acquired further. The citizens can lodge complaints if any, by making an SMS to Ph.no. 9177999876.

With the help of OSRT, the staff are forced to perform their duties efficiently and the GHMC had already collected Rs.25 lakhs in the form of fines, from the under-performing staff members. OSRT had fastened up the process of granting permissions to building constructions which have all the legal documents. By the month end the information of all the constructions and buildings violating the sanctioned plan will also be updated. By taking images of footpaths, parking area, terrace floor, building height and usage, the assessment of applications for occupancy certificates is being done.
