28 March 2011: The IPL matches starting from April 8th, will have increased prices for tickets, as decided by the franchisee owners of Deccan Chargers. The tickets for lowest category denominations will be priced at Rs.300 and Rs.600. Further, sofa seats are being set up for the club secretaries, reducing the seating capacity from about 45,000 to 38,000. The officials have also decreased the amount of expenditure spent on the seven matches, to Rs.1.24 crore from Rs.1.60 crore spent last time.
In the recent HCA executive meeting, it was made clear that there will be no interruptions to the IPL-4 matches. The HCA will be paid Rs. 30 lakh per match for all the seven matches that will be played at Rajiv Gandhi stadium at Uppal. The HCA has also made it clear that it is responsible only for providing the infrastructure for the matches and is not concerned with the increase in prices.
