Hike in Private School Fees to be Regulated by New Act

15 April 2011: The state government has come up with new Act, as a part of Right to Education (RTE) Act, to make new regulations to private schools. This measure is directed to control the annual fee hike in the private schools. The regulations will be laid out by the secondary education department. The high court had also issued an order (GOMs No: 91) in 2010 in the same regard. But the private school managements have then secured stay on the order. However, the court in August last year, had ordered the education department to formulate new rules for the academic year 2011-2012. The new Act is also will also lay rules for private schools to obtain recognition.
