Government Constitutes SRC to Provide Security to Hospitals

13 May 2011: To review the security system in government teaching hospitals and medical colleges, the government has constituted Security Review Committee, which will formulate the measures to provide all round security. The committee will take advices from the experts to prepare a report on the hospital security.

The state level SRC will be headed by the director of medical education and the members of this committee will be government general hospitals, principals of government medical colleges and nursing colleges and representatives from the medical/nursing students and faculty associations.

The SRC will recommend comprehensive security measures like limited access to hospital premises and also emergency services, without effecting the quality of patient services. The committee will also make suggestions on measures needed for the protection of college and hospital property and also health personnel. If necessary legislation will also be made by the committee to protect health professionals (especially women), form unruly persons.
