21 Jun 11: AICTE had put on hold the admissions into various prominent engineering colleges, as these colleges didn’t provide proper details of their admission process, curriculum and other facilities. The various colleges in to which the admissions are stopped are Chaitanya Bharati Institute of Technology (CBIT), Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) and Muffakham Jah Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Many students and parents are worried about these notices and stopping of admissions and are approaching AICTE officials to know the details and list of various colleges which are genuine and non-genuine. AICTE officials have clearly stated that any institution which is offering technical programs without approval or functioning from a temporary location will be declared unapproved. All the unapproved colleges have already received notices in April, for not complying with AICTE norms. The Muffakam Jah College of Engineering and Technology has received notices as the college is in property dispute.

AICTE has issued a list of 52 unapproved institutions, which include Indian School of Business, Gachibowli, Roots Business School, Somajiguda, Sujana School of Business, Madhapur and Jain School of Business.
