4 Jun 11: With rise in the number of vehicles and commercial establishments in the city, there are increased parking problems with little space in the busy areas. A multi-level parking complex is proposed to be built at the old pension office in Khilwat to solve the problems. The complex is in action as a part of the Charminar Pedestrianisation project.

It is supposed to have five floors allowing space for 400 four-wheelers and 200 two-wheelers. The vehicles will be taken to the floors above ground level with automated machines and conventional ramps will be there for parking floors below ground level. The complex is to be built near Lad Bazaar in an area of 2,150 sq. meters. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation also decided to set up such multi-level parking complexes in Koti, Paradise, Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station and Masab Tank. There is also a proposal to construct them near the Regional Passport Office in Secunderabad and old maternity hospital at Nayapul.
