Citizens to get Aadhar Cards Only by December

12 Aug 11: The officials of Unique Identification Authority of India have said that the citizens who have not yet received their Aadhar cards will only get them by December end. They have said that though they are working hard, even on Sundays and Holidays and increased the man power, still there are various issues surrounding the clearing of backlogs.

Further, Department of Posts has opened its first Aadhar enrollment center in the city at GPO in Abids. 7 other enrollment centers at post offices of Sanathnagar, Custom Service Center at Pattergatti, Uppal, Begumpet, Himayathnagar and Jamai Osmania will be coming up shortly. The postal department is also planning to set up 317 Aadhar centers all across the state. The post offices will arrange special postmen to enable quick and easy delivery of Aadhar cards to finish the project at the earliest.

At present Andhra Pradesh is leading in terms of number of Aadhar enrollments with 2.5 crore people enrolled alone in the state out of total 4.5 crore enrolled all across the country. 31,01,195 Aadhar letters are dispatched across the state with 13,01,427 letters being dispatched only in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. 64 additional Aadhar centers are expected to come by August end in these two districts.
