28 Sep 11: The Aadhar project launched by Unique Identification Authority of India has completed its one year on September 29th. In this one year, Andhra Pradesh was the first state which has generated 1.2 crore of Aadhaar cards in the country out of 3.24 crore enrollments.
The UIDAi has set up its first Aadhar enrollment center in the Hyderabad in the country on September 2009 and this center was responsible for the implementation Aadhaar projects in the states of AP, Chattisgarh, Orissa and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
This center has first registered its enrollment from Chittoor district in August 2010. The enrollments for Aadhaar in the areas of Chattisgarh have started from October 2010 and those in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Orissa have started from December 2010.
In view of this success, the UID regional office in Hyderabad will felicitate its partners in the project and the enrollment operators who have achieved good data quality during the UID enrollments.
