The long awaited merger of certain villages on the outskirts of Hyderabad is going to be a reality. Way back in 2007, with the formation GHMC, certain parts were proposed to be included in the list for merger. However because of large protest against the merger and legal hurdles, proposed move has been a long overdue.
This merger would create 15 additional circles and the number of circles would rise to 33. The 33 villages proposed to be merged include Shatamrai, Vutpalli, Tondupalli and Kotwalguda in Shamshabad mandal; Meerpet, Jalpalli, Jillelaguda, Kothapet, Pahadishariff, Venkatapur, Balapur and Mammidipalli in Saroornagar; Pragatinagar, Bachupalli, Nizampet, Kompalli, Dulapalli and Bahadurpalli in Quthbullpaur; Kuntlur, Kalvancha in Hayatnagar; Narsingi, Manchirevula, Kokapet, Gandipet, Vattinagulapalli, Neknampur, Puppalaguda, Khanapur, Manikonda, Kismatpur, Bandlaguda, Himayatsagar, Peeram Cheruvu and Hydershakota in Rajendranagar; and Nagaram, Dammaiguda and Rampalli in Keesara.
