As per a clarification by government, the marks obtained in physics in re-examination for the candidates who failed will not figure in the EAMCET rank list.
Till 2011, candidates sitting for advance supplementary examinations were considered for the EAMCET rank list. This year, however, as per the GO issued in April, before the Inter results, these students would not be considered for EAMCET as the number such candidates is a few hundreds.
However, breaking the usual trend, 31% of total Inter student numbering 1.8 lakh failed in the physics paper this year. Massive protests pressed the government to advance the supplementary exam May 16. Out of 5.6 lakh students who appeared for the physics paper, 4.8 lakh are appearing for advance supplementary, including 1.8 lakh who failed.
