The Hyderabad city police arrested a Ugandan national on last Saturday, who came back from Goa after purchasing rave party drugs from another Ugandan national. Police have seized 14 grams of cocaine, 10 packets of cube LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) and 10 pills of micro methylene dioxy methamphetamine (MDMA) from his apartment in Banjara Hills. He was selling MDMA and LSD at Rs.4,000/gram and Rs.2,500/gram respectively.
This is the first MDMA haul in the city. This person was found to be a resident of Sainikpuri, who came to India in 2006 on a study visa. He was from then selling drugs to various customers and was also arrested for the same by the central crime station (CCS) in 2010.
While the Goa resident and four others involved in the racket are missing, police have managed to catch hold of 4 of his associates from different parts of the city (Bollarum, Dilsukhnagar, Masab Tank and Yapral).
With this seizure of rave party drugs in the city, the city police have decided to increase the vigil on guest houses and farm houses in the city, where the rave parties are usually conducted. Further, the police are preparing to constantly monitor the movements of foreign nationals, by drawing the details and list of foreign nationals from Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Osmania University and other private, state and central institutions.
