More APSRTC City Buses to Ply from 13th of June

APSRTC will be operating additional bus services from June 13 to meet the demand from the students with the re-opening of schools and colleges in the city limits. The new services will be running on all the major sectors and corridors including sub-urban routes.

At present a fleet of 787 general buses are running in the city in which nearly 3,87,000 general pass holders both students and employees need to travel every day. According to the GHMC officials there are 2,133 schools and 3,659 are colleges in GHMC limits and the services which are running at present are not enough to meet their requirement.

Hence, an additional 115 services are added to the existing fleet of 787 buses which can run 732 additional trips, making the fleet to be 902 and the number of trips per day to be 8,938.

The officials also mentioned that though RTC incurred a loss of Rs. 144 crore in the previous years, they still focus on providing services with safety, comfort at economical cost with quality to the for delight of our passengers.
