No Rise in Hiring Levels in IT/ITes Companies in May: Naukri

According to the Naukri Job Speak Index for May 2012, the growth in monthly hiring levels in the IT/ITes companies in Hyderabad was negligible, though this May’s hiring levels were 23 percent higher than the last year. The hiring levels, though saw a slight dip on the whole, were found to be stable across the industry.

According to a press release of Naukri, the job speak index moved up in May 2012 by 8%, 6% and 3% due to the positive hiring activities in auto, oil & gas and banking sectors respectively. On the other hand, the IT and pharma sectors have maintained stable hiring levels in the last month. But, the hiring levels in the construction, BPO and telecom sectors (which reported low hiring levels since past few months), have recorded a low hiring percentage of 4-9% in the month of May when compared to April.

Further the company also conducted an in-depth analysis of key functional areas, which revealed that there was an increase in demand by 4% for the professionals in production and project management. While the same demand for same in the software industry remained stable, it dipped by 4 and 3 percent in case of BPO and HR industries respectively.
