As it is a move to promote green and biodiversity in the city, GHMC joined hands with CII to make it successful. The Special Commissioner of GHMC during the meeting held on “Promoting green and biodiversity in Hyderabad” mentioned that all the advertisement hoardings will be removed and those places would be dedicated for planting trees and maintaining greenery.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) came up with a new plan to save the fully grown trees which are being removed or axed during road widening and other construction activities.
CII is planning to establish a tree bank in Hyderabad by next year, in which it stores the trees which are removed during different operations. The tree bank holds all the tress, maintains and sells them to corporate companies and individuals.
On the same occasion, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests supported the need to make installation of solar panels mandatory for obtaining building plans approval so that we can reduce the consumption of electricity by using solar energy.
