According to the Consul General of the US consulate in the city, people who are applying for visa renewal within four years of expiry will not be interviewed by the US consulate. The officials have also announced that children below seven years need not be present at the consulate for interviews.
The process is being made simple so that, it saves time for both the interview appointment as well as issuing of the visa for applicants.
Last year there were more than 3.08 lakh B1/B2 visas that were issued in India and 70% of the total applicants were approved by the officials. The B1/B2 visas for business and tourism have been collaborated to promote business travelers to visit tourist destinations during their business trips.
