State Govt.: All Schools in the State Must Teach Telugu

As per government’s direction, all schools in the state must teach Telugu up to intermediate and junior colleges regardless of the medium of instruction.

The decision is the outcome of deliberation between Official Language Commission and the department of school education of state government.

The state government would frame a strategy paper considering various issues like, Telugu as a compulsory subject at all levels and in all schools in the state. The Kendriya Vidyalayas are also to be brought under the new rules.

Sources say that the government is going to introduce Telugu culture and art as a subject to make sure than Telugu and its culture to pass it to the generations to come.

Further, students taking Sanskrit as second language have to write the exam in ‘Devanagari script’ under the proposed rules.
