The Outer Ring Road stretch between Patancheru and Shamirpet was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 3rd December. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has opened the 120km stretch between Patancheru and Shamirpet of the Outer Ring Road (ORR), to public.
The HMDA would also start collecting toll taxes from motorists travelling on ORR from Patancheru to Shamirpet. The toll amount for cars is Rs 30, mini bus it is Rs 50 and two-axle trucks or buses it is Rs 100.
The stretch of the ORR is actually 158 km long, only 120 km of the ring road is completed and will be in use and the remaining 38 km will be mostly completed in June or July.
The ORR provides connectivity to Hi-Tec city, Gachibowli and also connects to National Highways towards Mumbai, Nagpur, Bangalore, Vijayawada and State Highways towards Vikarabad, Karimnagar, Medak, Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar.
