More than 12,000 Drunken Driving Cases Booked in One Year in the City

Traffic police in Hyderabad is planning to enforce rules against those who habitually consume alcohol and drive using breath analysers. The police is planning to deploy 35 breath analysers.

The campaign against drunken driving was started by Hyderabad Traffic Police in November 2011.
Since when the campaign started, 12,744 cases have been booked in all. Of these, 6,989 are from North zone including Secubderabad; 5,294 from south zone that covers old city and other areas. Kachiguda police station booked the highest number of cases, with Jubilee Hills in the second position with 785 cases. Asifnagar (233) and Bahadurpura (240) have the minimal numbers.
