Government of AP has come up with a restriction on financial assistance to be offered to employees and pensioners for medical treatment. The new norms are coming into force on Ugadi 11 April 2013.
Until now, employees and pensioners were allowed to get treatment any number of times in a financial year such that the cost does is not more than Rs 2 lakh for one hospitalization. Under the new norms, special permissions have to be obtained, if the amount is more than Rs 2 lakh.
Employees and pensioners would, however, continue to get out patient treatment and medicines at no cost.
The Aarogyasri Trust is going to be the nodal agency for the initial six moths for putting the new norms in force.
