The RTC has started using the Ticket Issuing Machine (TIM) in nearly 100 city buses in different depots of the State capital. The practice of issuing tickets manually will be replaced by TIM.
With the practice of TIM, conductors are relieved from carrying the bulky tickets tray and also dispensing the burdensome duty of filling up the Statistical ticket Accountable and Record (STAR) document on the sale of tickets for every stage.
The advantages of using TIM are conductors are spared with all the above burdensome duties. The TIM automatically prints the time, date, boarding and destination stages. With the use of TIM there is no possibility of re-issue of tickets.
The TIM also helps issue of one ticket for a group of six passengers and the stage-wise data will help the authorities analyse operations and plan accordingly.
