The extension on Aadhaar-LPG linkage came as a relief to LPG consumers. Earlier the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) had planned June 1 as the launch of the direct transfer programme in Hyderabad. But, now the date has been extended till August 31.
LPG Consumers who have their Aadhaar and LPG linkage will receive the subsidy credited in their bank account in three to four days of booking the first LPG cylinder.
Consumers can check their Aadhaar status through the MeeSeva facility or on the UIDAI portal. If their Aadhaar number is generated, LPG consumers can download e-Aadhaar from the website. LPG consumers who haven’t enrolled for Aadhaar have to go to the nearest Aadhaar centre and get their Aadhaar numbers generated.
