Come July and having a passport will become easier, as the ministry of external affairs is planning to introduce a new service that makes it easy for passport applicants to pay passport fee online while submitting the application.
The application fee can be paid through debit or credit card and if the applicant does not have a card, he/she can pay the fee at the nearby bank and fill in the receipt details online.
After submitting the application online, the applicant will receive the passport within 10 days. To speed up the application process the ministry of external affairs will be introducing online appointments through Passport Seva Kendras.
Applicants can access the online payment system for passports at www.passportindia.gov.in and for further details, applicants can also contact the National Passport Cell call centre at 1800 258 1800.
