Bad roads and killer potholes in the city are being repaired. Is it because this year we have elections? Or Because in Delhi elections Congress lost to Aam Aadmi? Or is it because we have a new GHMC commissioner? (Looks like our leaders are on their way to impress people).
Since monsoon, the city hasn’t seen road repair work, leaving commuters to suffer potholes and bumpy rides. What ever the reason might be, the good news is that roads are finally being repaired. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has begun repair and restoration work on roads that were badly damaged.
Several stretches of roads in city are undergoing repairs including Himayatnagar, Khairatabad, Kavadiguda, Narayanguda, Somajiguda, Malkajgiri, Alwal, Uppal, LB Nagar, are among many others.
The one aspect to appreciate about this exercise was the way officials did a good job on identifying the potholes on the road and getting the patch work done on the most troublesome sections of the road.
As the elections are coming closer, citizens are eagerly waiting new roads. Sadly but truly there is a tendency for politicians to lay roads a few months before elections. So if we miss in 2014, there may be no roads till 2019!
