According to sources at L & T Metro Rail Hyderabad (L & TMRH), the first train of the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) will arrive in the city by the end of April or early May, and after its arrival the trial runs will be done inside the Uppal depot.
In the Uppal depot, about 7 kms of track work is completed and between Nagole and Mettuguda the track work is on a rapid pace with 80% work completed on the 8 km stretch.
Along with laying traction lines, construction of stations is in progress on the stretch. Once the Nagole and Mettuguda stretch is completed, Metro train trial runs will also be done on this stage. It will be the first to become operational among the three corridor 72 km metro line.
