The prestigious ‘FICCI CSR Award – 2012-13’, has been bagged by the Shamshabad Airport for its CSR initiatives by FICCI Aditya Birla CSR Centre for Excellence.
Since several years, the Shamshabad airport has been implementing many of the CSR activities such as adopting government anganwadis and schools to improve educational standards and quality of education. A CBSE English medium school has also been set up where poor and meritorious children from the neighbouring villages of the airport are sponsored.
To help women in both pre and post-natal status, nutrition centres were set up. A medical mobile unit especially for elderly people has been set up in 10 villages and evening clinics in five villages. To train school and college drop-out youth in job-oriented skills, a residential skill development centre is run near RGIA (Rajiv Gandhi International Airport).
