The city recorded the lowest voter turnout when compared to other districts in Telangana. Hyderabad registered 53.3% voting, down from 2009’s 53.86%.
Among the Assembly constituencies, Secunderabad recorded 58%, Serilingampally recorded 48%, Kukatpally 50%, Uppal 50%, Malkajgiri 51%, Nampally 50%, Musheerabad 55%, Amberpet 55%, Charminar 54%, Malakpet 54%, Bahadurpura 53%, Jubilee Hills 53%, Sanathnagar 53%, Karwan 52%, Goshamahal 52%, Yakutpura 52%, Chandrayangutta 52%, Khairtabad 51%, Secunderabad Cantonment 51%, Rajendranagar 59%, L B Nagar 47%, Quthbullapur 49% and Medchal 60%.
Overall, Telangana recorded 70 percent voter turnout for 17 Lok Sabha seats and 119 state Assembly seats. The highest turnout among other Telangana districts was Khammam which recorded 80.5 percent voter turnout.
However, the polling in Hyderabad went on peacefully, with no major disturbances.
