The state government is planning to reduce the number of papers in SSC examination.
Under the new system, students will have to sit for seven papers in all, and except science every subject will have two papers.
Each subject will have 100 marks. Of this, 50 marks will be for written exam, and the remaining 50 marks will be awarded based on comprehensive and continuous evaluation of communication skills, internal assessment, project work, etc.
The new norms will come into force in March 2015. The March 2014 students will be the last batch to answer 11 papers in SSC examinations.
