As per the AICTE, from this academic year new curriculum is to be adopted which is common for all the engineering colleges across the country. All the colleges will now also have same grading and semester systems. The officials also included interpersonal skills and life skills as a part of the new syllabus, carrying weightage of 10%, and other subjects such as mathematics having 15% weightage, engineering sciences having 25% and the 40% weightage given to core subjects.
This initiation is taken after receiving complaints from many corporate companies, regarding lacking of communication skills in students, though having sound technical knowledge, which is making them to spend 25% of their expenses for training them.
