The new AC buses which were introduced by APSRTC in the city, under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), are found to be a major hit with the passengers, with overwhelming 80% of majority rate. The elderly people, women and physically handicapped people are especially finding it more comfortable as these buses are having just one step to climb, advanced shock absorbers and comfortable seating.
Keeping the popularity in mind, the RTC has come up with a combo card, which allows the passenger to travel in this AC bus, apart from the routine buses, just by paying Rs.20 to any place. This combo card has been introduced several days ago and now officials are planning to keep displays, explaining the benefits of combo card. But the student bus pass holders are not eligible for this card.
