21 May 2011: As known, many properties are to be affected by the metro rail project in the city. It is reported by the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) that out of the 1,550 properties which get affected, 1,350 are affected because of road widening and others for metro line alignment. It is planning to provide compensation for all the affected properties. A modern five-storied commercial complex has been proposed to be built by the HMR with the help of GHMC at Putlibowli for providing accommodation for affected shop owners at Sultan Bazaar. It has also proposed constructions for the other properties affected in road widening for the project at Badi Chowdi.

A total of 90 properties at Sultan Bazaar and another 300 at Badi Chowdi had been identified by the HMR to be affected by the project. All these are estimated to be accommodated at the proposed new complexes and more than 600 new shops would be made available for occupying.
