After getting approval for expansion of radial roads from The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) department, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will soon expand three more radial roads for better connectivity to the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
The three approved roads are – Jeedimetla to Saregudem (RR No 11), ECIL crossroads to Cherial crossroads (RR No 16), and Radial Road from Nagole junction to Gourelly crossroads (RR No 22). Each of these roads are awarded to different contractors at an amount which is less than the estimated contract value and they will soon take up civil works, strengthening and widening of radial roads. While the urban development authority bears 30% of the cost, R&B and MA&UD contribute 25% and 10% respectively.
According to the sources, 10 radial roads are identified for expansion, of which seven are completed and the remaining three are the above mentioned ones, which are going to be completed soon. According to the officials, once the 158-mm ORR is ready, all the radial roads should be expanded and should have better connectivity to the ORR.
