According to officials of GHMC, there more than 3000 hoardings, uni poles, signboards, etc, in the city and many more which were unauthorized. Most of the unauthorized hoardings are installed at the outskirts of the city. Municipal corporation is not able to ask some agencies, who have the political support. And their staff are unable to find out unauthorized hoardings, because some of them are at the top of the residential buildings or apartments. People are not allowing the staff reach the terrace of the buildings.
Finally, it decided to ban unauthorized advertisement hoardings instead of searching them. Nearly the income of Rs. 26 crore is generated by collecting fee for advertisements from agencies.
