Police Station Renewed to Guard Hussain Sagar Lake

The lake police station, which was set up as a part of lake policing project in 2002, went unused from the past few years. Recently it has been renewed. The police station will have an inspector, two sub inspectors, three head constables, 10 constables and 40 home guards. 40 signages and sign boards are being kept all along the lake and the police personnel are given red uniforms for easy recognition. The working hours of the station are 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm on weekdays and 9.00 am to 9.00 pm in weekends and holidays.

The police station will be equipped with a jeep, speed boat, motor cycles, bicycles and a surveillance camera. Two static and three hand-held VHF sets are to be used by the policemen, apart from these, personnel conducting patrolling in the lake will have wireless handsets, dragon light and a beacon.

It will also have five assistance booths at Tank Bund, Sanjeevaiah Park, People’s Plaza, Lumbini park and IMAX rotary.
