04 April 2011: The sex ratio in state goes up from 978 (for every 1000 males) in 2001 to 992 in 2011, though the overall nation saw a decline. Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Mahbubnagar were the poor performers in terms of sex ratio with the number being 943, 955 and 975 respectively. The highest sex ratio was in Nizamabad (1038) and others which were near to it were Vizianagaram (1016) and Srikakulam (1014).
