04 April 2011: According to the latest census report, the literacy rate of Andhra Pradesh is 67.77, when compared to 60.47 percent in 2001. The overall literacy rate of males increased from 70.32 percent to 75.56 percent and that of females increased from 50.43 percent to 59.74 percent. Among the districts, Hyderabad stood on top with a literacy rate of 80%, followed by Ranga Reddy (78.05%) and Mahabubnagar (56.06%).
