The JNTU, Hyderabad has decided to do away with the present pattern in respect to mid examinations and introduce computer based testing (CBT) instead in the ensuing academic session in various engineering courses. The move has been taken because of complaints regarding ‘discrimination and victimisation’ by colleges while awarding internal marks.
As the role of the colleges gets limited in the new scheme, any discrimination whatsoever is expected to be mitigated. Officials are of the opinion that the scheme could also be applied while conducting the semester examination.
Under the new scheme, students would have to take the mid examinations online with the question papers generated by computers. It is in line with TOEFL.
