The A.P state government is planning to hike the fee structures of MBA, MCA and Engineering seats for this academic year, 2012-13. The hike is expected to be between 40-150 percent and the revision is applicable only to 130 engineering colleges and 120 MBA/MCA colleges, which submitted audited financial statements and came forward to implement the AICTE pay scales.
The rest of the colleges which didn’t submit their financial statements has to follow the same old fee structure. Presently, the fee structure for convener quota seats for B.Tech is Rs.31,000 per annum and for MBA/MCA courses it is Rs.27,000. For management quota seats, the fee is Rs.95,000 for engineering courses and Rs.78,000 for MBA/MCA courses.
If the fee is revised, it is likely to be increased to Rs.45,000-60,000 for convener quota and Rs.1.5-2.5 lakh for management quota.
However, the final decision is pending as the Supreme court is expected to issue orders on a common fee structure for all the seats and the abolition of categorisation of seats.
