Soon, Kukatpally Road to be Expanded to 200ft

The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) are undertaking the project of widening the road of Erragadda – JNTU, Kukatpally stretch to 200 feet (60 metres). If the road is constructed according to the plan, then it will be the widest road in the city.

Many property owners are protesting against the widening of the roads, as they will be losing their lands. But, the HMR and the GHMC are moving ahead with acquisition of more properties.

During the road widening exercise, as many as 292 properties will be affected and the officials have sent notices to property owners under the Land Acquisition Act, as they are planning to complete the project in 2 months.

It is learnt that about 100 property owners have agreed for road widening, whereas some are against it and are opposing.
