The JNTU had conducted the Faculty Eligibility Test (FET) on August 18. A total of 1,500 people had appeared for the test, out of which only 400 passed, which means less than 30 per cent have cleared that test and about 70 per cent failed the test.
The FET qualification is compulsory to be appointed as a faculty in engineering colleges and this year not even half of the faculty could manage to clear the test. The qualifying marks were only 30 per cent for reserved category candidates and 40 per cent for OCs.
These results clearly show that the faculty of colleges under JNTU are sub-standard.
